Dallas AIGA: Design That Matters

Over the past two decades, Michael Osborne Design has undertaken many pro-bono projects, sandwiching them between for-profit client work.

As a result of the passing of Joseph Michael Osborne in October 2004, Joey’s Corner was founded to honor his life, and to help other young people, by providing pro-bono design services for non-profit groups specializing in health-care, children’s and social well-being issues.

Non-profit groups frequently find themselves in the position of feeling that they cannot afford a professional designer. However, targeted design solutions can help position an organization in a more professional and consistent manner, thereby attracting donors and publicity, enhancing the planning for a successful fund-raiser, or even developing retail products to increase public awareness and to provide a new revenue stream.

“Designing for worthy causes is gratifying creatively, and even more so because we are helping to make a difference not only to the client but in the world.”

- Michael Osborne
